Gears of War emerging today

So those lucky people in the US will start to see Gears of War emerging onto their local game store shelves from today. Microsoft are distributing the title to stores from today, and have said that stores can sell it as soon as they receive it. Apparently some stores close to Seattle may have the game on shelves today, but it will start to spread across the country slowly until the US Emergence Day on Sunday November 12th when it will be available right across the US. It appears that on Sunday there will also be the opportunity for gamers to play online with Cliffy B and team, as well as free downloads and online tournaments. Gears is released here in the UK on Friday 17th November (which doesn’t seem that far away anymore!), but there is no word as yet as to whether we will see the same level of online activity and organised events as the US seem to be getting.
